In 2007, the Cabal had come across an old genetic engineering experiment created by Gregory Magnus over a century prior. This experiment turned normal human beings into violent aggressive creatures the Cabal called metahuman fighters.
History[]
Episode 1x10 - "Warriors" |
---|
The Cabal's plan was to use this experiment to create a superhuman army to kill other abnormals. In order to create these beings, the Cabal initially resorted to kidnapping homeless people around Old City before eventually kidnapping Danny Bradley and Will Zimmerman to use as test subjects in 2008.
Testing of the creatures was done by using moving illegal bare-knuckle fight rings at abandoned warehouse locations around Old City. At an old location down by the river was Gregory Magnus. Gregory, while not a fighter himself, he was still implanted with a bug that unwillingly turned him into a Cabal informant with the persona of "Charles 'Charlie' L. Denton". |

- Speculation: Once the Old City Sanctuary team crashed the current fight ring location at Genius Meat Pack, it is assumed that the supreme fighters who were there were likely reverted back to being normal humans by Helen Magnus, just as Danny Bradley and Will Zimmerman were.
