Episode 1x01 - "Sanctuary for All, Part I"
Vern Kovacs
Vern Kovacs had just got out prison after ten years (served time for armed robbery, rape, and assault) when he was falsely suspected of committing the triple homicide that was committed by Alexei; Jagna Lutrova used him as a scapegoat. Episode 1x02 - "Sanctuary for All, Part II"
At the beginning of the episode when Helen Magnus asks Henry Foss if there were any other updates for her to be informed of, he mentions that a working girl was found murdered behind a warehouse down near Circle Square about four hours ago. Magnus inquires how she was murdered and Henry responds that she was killed via typical old-school stabbing and because there were no witnesses, the cops are clueless as usual as to who committed the murder. Magnus then requests for CCTV footage from that part of town to investigate the incident and Henry wonders why they (as in the Sanctuary) should care about it, because even though it's very sad, it doesn't have any indication that an abnormal was involved. Later on, when Magnus views the footage of the area, she recognizes the killer as being John Druitt.
Episode 1x12 - "Revelations, Part I"
When the thought-still-alive Anna Griffin needed to be picked up quickly from Baton Rouge, Henry Foss asks for someone to wake up John Druitt because they "don't have time to take a fast train". When Helen Magnus stresses the plural of "we", Henry worries about sending Druitt alone because he's "all hearts and flowers one day, and the next day he's turning a working girl into a canoe" (a duel reference to Druitt killing the Hooker from around a year ago, and to Druitt's past history of being Jack the Ripper). Magnus supports Henry's reasoning and orders Will Zimmerman to keep Druitt company.

In the episode subtitles on Blu-Ray disc, the name is spelled as Rayburn. On IMDb however, the name is spelled as Rayburne. Considering that other character names are seen misspelled on IMDb, the subtitle spelling is considered to be the correct version. Thomas is Chad Spencer's first victim.

Episode 2x10 - "Sleepers"
Thomas Rayburn
In late 2009, Thomas Rayburn was a good Samaritan killed by Chad Spencer in a forest outside Old City not long after he and his wife, Zoe Rayburn, saw Chad's wrecked car. Chad awoke as a vampire and murdered the couple in a frenzied attack, causing Thomas to die by exsanguination resulting from multiple deep lacerations. Helen Magnus and Will Zimmerman weren't sure if they'd be able to pass off the wounds as a being from a wild animal.

Zoe Rayburn[]

Zoe Rayburn is played by Melissa Poll. She is of unknown height, has blonde hair, and blue eyes. The character's name is never mentioned within the show itself and is only found listed on IMDb as being Zoe Rayburne. Zoe is Chad Spencer's second victim.

Episode 2x10 - "Sleepers"
Zoe Rayburn
Zoe Rayburn was a good Samaritan who became a victim of Chad Spencer. She and her husband, Thomas Rayburn, came across Chad's car crash site not long after initial impact in a forest outside of Old City. When her husband went to investigate and informed her of finding a "dead guy", she made a 911 call claiming her husband found a dead body. She was killed after Chad murdered her husband; dying by exsanguination resulting from lacerations. Her body is seen laying flat on her stomach in the forest not too far from Chad's car; face turned to the right with eyes open and her left cheek plus chin and right arm/hand on top of a downed tree trunk that's only a few inches in diameter. Magnus and Will observe the wounds on her corpse, noting the cuts on her face being the same as her husband's: some deep, some superficial; the attack being fierce and frenzied, not giving her much time to put up a fight to defend herself. After Magnus and Will leave Zoe's body to walk over and inspect Chad's car, Magnus asks Will if the situation could be spun as a wild animal attack, however Will wasn't confident that it could be considering that there were no animal prints around, only footprints.

She had never killed anyone in her entire life before then. His death made her sad and hungry at the same time.

Episode 2x10 - "Sleepers"
Steve
Steve was a good friend of Chad Spencer and the other young people who went to Nikola Tesla's detox clinic. In late 2009, Steve was selected and invited to Penthouse 2 in New City when the group wished to expand their numbers. He was initially hesitant to join, as they didn't look like the vampires on "True Blood", and he himself didn't spend Spring Break week 2009 down at the detox clinic in Mexico like they did. Steve eventually agreed to join and was bitten by Laura S. on the neck in an attempt to make him a vampire, but soon after died from exsanguination instead of turning. This unexpected complication caused the group to become aware of the fact that transformation only worked on those who had been in the clinic, leading them to 'seek help' by abducting Tesla.

He timed her death to have occurred 20 to maybe 30 minutes ago based on the quality of blood being fresh. Magnus ordered Henry to retrieve the security camera footage, wanting to know of everyone who was on the floor in the last half hour. Magnus has Kate gather the quests, and Kate questions why someone would hurt a gentle, non-threatening person. Magnus states it's because they are the perfect target.
