Yusuf is a member of the Sanctuary Network, and the house head of the Monrovia Sanctuary.

He has a sister, as well as several children, including teenage sons.

Dr. Will Zimmerman met with him at the Monrovia Sanctuary during election-related unrests in 2011. After Will temporarily went blind from blood entering his eyes during an armed robbery, Yusuf brought him into a house and had him stay there while he got a doctor. During his absense, he was able to bring back the doctor and check on his family. The doctor healed Will, stopping him from going blind. After will woke up from a flashback, Yusuf brought him back to the Sanctuary.^[1]

Yusuf later took part in a video conference with other house heads.^[2]
